A Few Changes and Then Some

February 10, 2016 · Leave a Comment

Happy Lunar New Year, folks!

A lot has happened since the turn of the new year and yes, I have been lazy af to get you all up to speed. But first, thank you to those who’ve joined my New Year giveaway. I’ll be having more this year, so I hope you continue to watch this space for updates and other things.

So…to the business at hand.

I haven’t mentioned it in this blog (or during the time I was still using Blogger), but I also dabbled into book blogging in Will Read for Feels last year. I wanted to keep my work as a blogger and an author separate, hence I didn’t talk about that side activity in this space. The people who know me (aka my writer friends) are aware that I also read and review books, and it has been an awesome year. I learned a lot about my preferences as a reader, my limits (I barely made the half-mark goal I set for 100 books last year), and of course I also met and discovered great authors who are pretty much on my auto-buy list.

Let’s Talk About Sports Romance

Spot the only rose among the thorns. đŸ™‚

I had every intention to skip the sports romance discussion organized by Mina V. Esguerra simply because I don’t read a lot of sports romances. It’s not that I avoid reading it, but the list of books that I’ve read with that kind of “theme” was pretty dismal. And because I’m not really into sports so it’s not something I actively look for in the romances I read. But I showed up anyway because I had other reasons to be there.

The 5th Filipino ReaderCon: Fun, Friends, Feels

December 1, 2015 · 1 Comment

I attended almost every ReaderCon (with the exception of last year’s as it fell on a weekday), but this year’s event was special to me because of a lot of things.

1. Selling books & being part of a writing community

Being part of #romanceclass and the Romance Writers of the Philippines opened up my world to a lot of new friends, opportunities, and other fun things I wouldn’t have accomplished on my own. It was also a thrilling experience to be able to sell my books, meet new readers, and just hang out with fellow indie authors. Just look at our lovely booth! Who would’ve thought we were all running under less than 5 hours of sleep with all that energy?

Hello, reader!

When I don't procrastinate, I write spec fic and a bit of romance on the side. And then I hoard books. Lots of it.
